How to Make a Wedding Card for an Indian Wedding
The most elaborate Western wedding cannot compare to the color, enthusiasm and vivacity of an Indian wedding. If you've never attended one before, you're in for the experience of a lifetime. Garlands of brightly colored blooms, wedding costumes in an array of vivid hues and gold, henna and ornate jewelry is considered commonplace. When you create a handmade card for an Indian wedding, let it reflect the richness and prosperity you'll experience at the nuptial event.

* Brightly colored card stock
* Matching envelope
* Ruler
* Paisley stamp
* Elephant stamp
* Gold stamp pad
* Gold ribbon
* Glue
* Tiny jeweled stones with flat backs
* Congratulations stamp
* Black pen

Choose a piece of card stock and matching envelope in cherry red, hot pink, fuchsia, turquoise, bright orange - all popular colors used in Indian weddings.

Fold your card stock in half carefully so the edges meet exactly. Use a ruler to create a sharp crease along the fold.

Use your paisley and elephant stamps, which are both common symbols in India, to create a design with gold ink on the front of your card. Use your elephant stamp to stamp several elephants in a line across the top of the card in gold. Use the paisley stamp to create a line of paisleys across the lower portion of the card in gold as well.

Tie your piece of gold ribbon into a bow and flatten it out. Glue it onto the front of the card in the middle below your elephants and above the paisley designs. Allow it to dry thoroughly.

Glue tiny jeweled stones with flat backs carefully onto the front of the card strategically to emphasize the design you've created. Allow them to dry completely so they're securely affixed to the card.

Place your "congratulations" stamp on the ink pad and then stamp the inside of the card. Allow the stamp to dry thoroughly.

Turn the card over and stamp the middle of the back with either a paisley design or an elephant. Both are considered a symbol of good fortune in India.

Write your heartfelt sentiments to the couple inside the card in black ink.
